About The Ultimate Disney World Savings Guide

The Ultimate Disney World Savings Guide is an e-book written by Beth Haworth who is a former cast member at Walt Disney World in Orlando. Having worked there myself a few years back, I thought I knew ways to get discounts and the best times to go, so I thought I would check out the book. I was surprised at the amazing content and have used it now for several years. This site is dedicated to all things Disney and how you can save money while doing it.

The Book

Wait Time App

One of the unknowns when you go to Disney is how long are the wait times for attractions and shows.  Now, you can know before you get there.

There are now apps for the iPhone, Droid and Blackberry phones which give you up to the minute waits.  I have the new Epic phone and have used one of the apps and I love it.  Although I live in CA, I have used it to check the wait times at Disney World and I hear it is pretty accurate.

I want to move back to Orlando and will continue to use it when I get there.  Check out the Droid Market or iTunes and download it today.

The first time I went to Walt Disney World, I was 10 years old and it was October. Growing up in New England, during this time of year, hats, mittens and winter jackets were normal attire. But, not in Orlando, where I was wearing shorts, swimming in a pool, and in general, ignoring the cool autumn back home. It was during this trip I was determined to live in Orlando when I was old enough to move on my own.

Before I went to high school, I was able to go on 3 additional trips to The Happiest Place on Earth. I loved Disney World! Knowing how much I wanted to live in Orlando, I thought about jobs and figured Disney World would be a pretty good place to work. I geared my entire college career towards going to work at Disney. When I was getting ready to graduate college, the economy was struggling and Disney was not doing much hiring, but I was lucky and got 1 of the coveted few openings they had.

My friends and family were constantly visiting me and I would play tour guide with them when the arrived. I got to know the parks pretty well and had my own "system" on how to do the most in the shortest time. I started collecting all types of trinkets and souvenirs which I still have to this day.

I still love the company and miss working there, but I do keep up religiously with what is happening there. This site is devoted to that.

Holidays at The Happiest Place on Earth

The holidays are just around the corner and in my humble opinion, there is no better place for the holidays than Walt Disney World. There are so many things to see and do from the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, to the daily Christmas tree lights to the Candlelight Processional.

I have done all of these events year after year and have had the pleasure of seeing many celebrities read the Christmas Story at EPCOT including Kirk Cameron and Gary Sinise. The Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is beyond compare.

If you are in Orlando this holiday season, be sure to check out Walt Disney World, you will not be disappointed.
